NO FOOLERY!
Tom Lehrer's
TOMFOOLERY
Returns to the Miracle Theatre This Summer

No Foolery! TomFoolery is back. Actors' Playhouse, a highly regarded South Florida cultural organization celebrating its 20th Anniversary Season, is thrilled to resurrect Tom Lehrer's satirical musical revue TomFoolery after a decade of peace.

Adapted by Cameron Mackintosh and Robin Ray, TomFoolery compiles the words and music of Tom Lehrer into a witty, wicked, offbeat and thoroughly twisted musical revue. Nothing is sacred in this hysterical revue featuring such Lehrer favorites as "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park," "National Brotherhood Week," "Elements," "When You Are Old and Gray," "The Masochism Tango," "The Old Dope Peddler" and "The Vatican Rag." Rediscover the man and songs that have delighted and skewered the world for over forty years.

Director David Arisco and musical director David Nagy have assembled a talented cast of Actors' Playhouse veteran actors, all of whom have performed in several of the company's critically acclaimed TomFoolery productions spanning over sixteen years.

The reunion will include Stephen Jordan who returns to the production for the fourth time, making him the only "original" cast member. Stephen performed for ten years at Actors' Playhouse in a myriad of shows and has been in countless productions at a variety of theatres across the United States over his 25-year career. Carbonell nominee Francisco (Pancho) Padura, a thrice veteran of TomFoolery was last seen at Actors' Playhouse in the zany comedy, Shear Madness. No stranger to Actors' Playhouse's audiences, Pancho also enjoyed being part of the theatre's longest running musical, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Also joining the reunion is Oscar Cheda, a member of the 1996 production. His performance in this production earned him a Carbonell nomination, as did his performances in Actors' Playhouse's productions of Five Course Love and Damn Yankees. Cheda was most recently seen in Actors' Playhouse Florida Premier of Irving Berlin's White Christmas. Veteran actor Margot Moreland also returns to the role that earned her a Carbonell Award in Actors' TomFoolery production in 1996.

"TomFoolery is an exciting revival for our theatre company. This production was the first to put us on the theatrical map in 1989, and reuniting with four TomFoolery alumni will be a blast. Our audience is in for a real treat," Arisco said.

TomFoolery will preview at the Miracle Theatre on July 11 and 12 and open on July 13, 2007.  It will run through September 2. Performances will be held Wednesday through Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 2 pm through July 25th and then Thursday-Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday 2pm through September 2nd.
