The Women's Theatre Project presents
The Southeastern Premiere of Three Fittings by Stephanie Walker
The Women's Theatre Project announces the Southeastern Premiere of Three Fittings by Stephanie Walker. The playwright will be in residence during the opening weekend to conduct talk-backs with audiences. A limited seating lunch forum with the playwright will be held on April 25 (more details to follow.)
ABOUT THE PLAY:
Three brides-to-be, one bridal salon, and a million perfect dresses. One bride may have said yes too soon, terrified she's purchased a gown (and perhaps more) that she might, in the end, despise. Another bride believes matching bridesmaid dresses are fascist and would rather end world hunger than register at Tiffany's. And yet another bride reminds us that it is truly not about the dress. Along with the wedding gowns…love, heartbreak, longing, and delusion are on display at a bridal boutique.
ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT STEPHANIE ALISON WALKER:
Originally from Chicago, Stephanie began writing plays while working for the Tony Award- winning producing organization, Fox Theatricals, and has since found success in L.A. with productions of her plays-How to Feel Safe in the Suburbs, Three Fittings and Dreaming in Castellano and in New York with her short plays The Dress and The Big Ride. Three of her car plays, Hollywood Hills, Back Roads and It's Not About the Car were produced in 2008 as part of Los Angeles' Moving Arts smash hit production: The Car Plays. Her short film that she wrote and co-produced based on the car play, Back Roads, is premiering at the Women's International Film Festival in Miami while Hollywood Hills was selected for publication in the Smith & Kraus anthology: Best Ten-Minute Plays 2008: 2 Actors.
