Meet Betty, Betty, Betty, Betty, and Betty...Betty is rich; Betty is lonely; Betty's busy working on her truck; Betty wants to talk about love, but Betty needs to hit something. Thinking Cap Theatre's 7th Season continues with the Southeastern Premiere of COLLECTIVE RAGE: A Play in Five Betties, a timely, pointed, and playful investigation of gender. Not since Eve Ensler has a playwright had such profound (and hilarious!) thoughts to share about women, stereotypes, relationships, and the female anatomy!

Inspired in part by Max Fleischer's iconic, sexualized animation, Betty Boop, COLLECTIVE RAGE presents, explores, and explodes the legacy of female stereotypes that women today have inherited--Don't worry, men will have their moment in September when Thinking Cap Theatre stages Young Jean Lee's acclaimed dramedy, Straight White Men.

In the wake of the POTUS claiming to have grabbed a woman by the p****, and women marching on Washington wearing pussy caps, the P-word, that's right PUSSY, has gotten more play in the media and on the streets than it ever has before. Silverman's COLLECTIVE RAGE emboldens women to examine their hearts and their parts and gives patriarchy a knockout punch!

Director Nicole Stodard is excited to work again with five of South Florida's best actresses, all of whom have appeared in Thinking Cap Theatre shows before. The Betties will be portrayed by Ann Marie Olson (ALWAYS..PATSY CLINE), Betsy Graver (OR,), Vanessa Elise (WAITING FOR WAITING FOR GODOT), Gretchen Porro (MUD, A PUBLIC READING OF AN UNPRODUCED SCREENPLAY ABOUT THE DEATH OF Walt Disney, THE REALISTIC JONESES), and Carey Hart (THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, CHURCH, THE ROVER).
