Florida Studio Theatre Offers
Summer Camps for Youth
The Florida Studio Theatre School invites all area youth to participate in FST's Summer Camp program.
Beginning in May, FST will offer a variety of educational and engaging summer programs for youth ages 5-17. From Little Theatre for the youngest theatre enthusiasts, to Teen Workshops, to V.I.P Camp for students with special needs, FST offers a wide array of summer sessions for children of any age or interest.
Florida Studio Theatre 1241 North Palm Avenue Sarasota, FL 34236 Website: www.fst2000.org .
FST's methodology is geared towards helping each child find his or her own "door" to creative achievement. FST's Director of Education Kate Alexander recognizes the potential of every child to shape the next generation of theatre. To this end, the FST summer program strives to maintain small class sizes of 8-12 students. Under the guidance of professional artists, students receive the personal attention needed to grow as artists and to nourish their individual passions.
Children at FST are not just individuals. They are creative individuals. Students at FST will explore every aspect of theatre from acting method to playwriting. Professional teaching artists strive to inspire personal creativity, instill confidence, and provide serious training in theatre.
FST's summer sessions begin May 29 and run through mid-August. For more information or to register, please contact Pam Smith at (941) 366-1350. Florida Studio Theatre believes that theatre should be accessible and affordable to as many people as possible. Full and partial scholarships are available based on financial need. A complete Summer Camps schedule follows.
