The University Guerrilla Troop proudly presents Eve Ensler's The
Vagina Monologues on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 8:30 at the Miami Beach
Cinematheque, 512 Espanola Way, on (South Beach) Miami Beach, Florida.

The Vagina Monologues is an off-Broadway play written by Eve Ensler.
The Production is brought to the community by Miss L Powers, "The Head
Vagina."

Performed for you, only one-night, by The University Guerrilla Troop
super cast:   Arielle Clay, Maria Alexandra Flores, Priyanka Handa,
Samar Khalife Iglesias, Deanna McKay, Liana Minassian, Miss L Powers, Lisa
Rotter, Sam Rush, Jennifer Somach, Rose Sirna, and Tatina Suda.

Eve Ensler is an Obie award-winning playwright, activist, and
screenwriter. THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES is based on Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. The piece celebrates women's sexuality and strength,
and exposes the violations that women endure throughout the world
regarding a taboo subject–the vagina.  Ensler created a collective yet unique
testimony of womanhood in all its potency, hilarity, and heartbreak.
These words, sentiments, and memories could be your mother's, your
sister's, your daughter's, your own.

The Boston Globe described Ensler as a "radical in red lipstick and
cowboy boots." Ensler definitely seeks to change the secrecy and shame
that surrounds women's bodies. She has devoted her life to stopping
violence, envisioning a planet in which women and girls will be free to
thrive, rather than merely survive.  Her work grows out of her own
personal experiences with violence. She exudes warmth, wit, and a sense of
voice.

V-Day originated out of Ensler's conversations with women who
approached her after early performances of THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, to tell her of their own experiences of violence.  She began to use performances of
the play to raise funds for organizations working to stop violence.
Soon, she and the group of women who make up V-Day found that support for
their efforts was far-reaching and expansive. What began as a simple
possibility quickly transformed into a worldwide social and activist
movement.

The Vagina Monologues is a daring and intricate balance of Ensler's
vision, compassion, and brutally-honest exploration. The world tour of
The Vagina Monologues initiated V-Day, a global movement to stop
violence against women and girls.   What is V-Day?  The 'V' in V-Day stands
for Victory, Valentine and Vagina.

Miami.
