Saturday, January 30, 2010, 7:30pm @ 18 Rabbit Gallery
Hosted by FlowDiva, with musical performances by CriStyle Renae.
Conundrum Stages is fulfilling its mission to showcase local talent by presenting its first ever poetry event. THE SPEAKOUT: An Evening of Poetry and Song will celebrate this literary art form through performance and recitation by providing a forum for South Florida veteran and rising artists to share their original material.
Incorporated in 2008, Conundrum Stages is an organization dedicated to promoting resident talent in the Southeast Florida region by presenting showcases in various fields of performance and entertainment. Their goal is to enlighten audiences with talent, collaborate with groups with similar missions, all in an effort to build and strengthen the performance and entertainment communities.
Conundrum Stages welcomes South Florida talent including Kenyatta "Xodus" Browne, Anastasia Clark, Manny Ortega, Gus St. Anthony, Rebecca "Butterfly" Vaughns, Matthew "Write Now" Medonia, Giselle Valdes, spoken word ensemble The Chaos Theory, and more. R&B vocalist CriStyle Renae will entertain audiences with her musical expertise between poetry selections.
The host for this presentation will be Rachel Finley (aka Flow Diva), an actor, director, and spoken word artist who has been writing poetry for 20 years while performing spoken word for 6. As a director, she has mounted stage productions such as Down the Road (ALLIANCE THEATRE Lab) and Sisters: A Celebration of the Human Spirit (African-American Performing Arts Community Theatre). Flow Diva is also a member of the above-mentioned Chaos Theory.
The SpeakOut will be presented at the 18 Rabbit Gallery, a new 2500 square foot art space that is being used for exhibits and other events. The presentation will be on Saturday, January 30th, 2010, starting at 7:30pm. The admission is free. The gallery is located at 18 NW 1st Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, across the street from the Broward Central Bus Terminal.
