The Playgroup's wildly popular shorts program is back for its 7th season, featuring the very best in South Florida playwriting talent: comedies, dramas and a few surprises. Eight amazing ten-minute plays by South Florida playwrights. Rated PG-13. Six performances at the Willow Theatre at Sugar Sand Park, 300 S. Military Trail, Boca Raton, FL. Spare Change by Brian Reeves. A bag lady meets a man in a suit. Will he help her survive?
Life Saving 101 by Joe Feinstein. Is it possible home cooking will keep William from committing suicide?
Character Assassination by Robert O'Connell. Graham Colfax is the famous author of 18 detective stories in which, of course, someone dies.
Lawrence Toomey is a detective. Who will survive this meeting?
Gwen Has A Date by Marj O'Neill-Butler. A widow met a man in the supermarket. He could be the one. Will her concerned girlfriends ruin the whole thing?
Ben's Key by Ken Kurtz. A Philadelphia bartender gets a visitor from the past during a thunderstorm.
Once Upon A Box Of Junk by Tom Andrew. A man finds a Genie, and learns how to make the right wishes.
Meet Me At The Cabana by Mary Goulart. A philandering congressman's wife, ex-wife and girlfriend meet at a bar.
Pickup by Marj O'Neill-Butler. A man tries to pick up a girl that he thinks he knows, but doesn't really.

Founded in 2010, The Playgroup is committed to showcasing the work of local artists, playwrights, directors and actors. They only produce original plays by local playwrights and hold monthly workshops where playwrights can develop their projects and network with local actors and directors. Past productions include: Better Than Money and The Last Of The Aztecs, by Joe Feinstein, Scenes From A Chinese Restaurant by Tom Andrew, Little Piggies, Broken Angels and Surfing the Rubicon by Todd Caster, Joseph Andrews by Peter Hawkins, The Monster Project by Brian Harris and six one-act evenings: Shortcuts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
