Lake Worth Playhouse Features the Fab Sounds of the 1960s British Invasion with The Lads of Liverpool

The Lake Worth Playhouse music concert series continues with a performance from THE LADS OF LIVERPOOL on Wednesday, January 27 at 8:00 p.m. 

The musical British Invasion was an influx of British bands from 1964-1967 who brought their songs to millions of listeners and fans from the United States and around the world. The 1960s were characterized by music of and for the times. The Lads of Liverpool play a tribute to the British bands of rock music that influenced a generation and dominated the airwaves and our memories ever since. 

Now in its third year, The Playhouse Concert Series continues to feature a diverse mix of sounds and styles that appeal to a variety of music tastes. The series showcases five local South Florida bands each month from December 2009 through March 2010. The Playhouse Concert Series is sponsored by W4CY Internet Radio. Upcoming bands include METROPOLITAN KLEZMER (February 18), THE LATIN JAZZ PROJECT (March 10) and THE LEGENDS OF DOO WOP (March 16).

Tickets are $25 and $29 per concert and can be purchase by contacting the Lake Worth Playhouse Box Office at 561-586-6410. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.lakeworthplayhouse.org. Group discounts and subscription rates are available. Visa, MasterCard and Discover Card are accepted. The Playhouse concession stand is now offering beer and wine in addition to soft drinks and snacks.

Lake Worth Playhouse is a non-profit community theatre with a diverse array of offerings, including award-winning dramas, comedies, musicals, area premieres, Broadway favorites, children's shows, ballets and operas on film, live concerts, improv comedy and alternative programming. In addition to its main stage theatrical fare, The Playhouse presents year-round independent and foreign films in the Stonzek Theatre, an intimate black-box style theatre equipped with a large viewing screen and high-definition projection. The Playhouse offers a variety of educational programs for adults and children, as well as community outreach initiatives that bring cultural programs into the neighborhoods of underserved youth and also make theatre available free of charge for disadvantaged citizens in the community.   

Lake Worth Playhouse is located at 713 Lake Avenue in Downtown Lake Worth. It is situated on the south side of Lake Avenue two blocks east of Dixie Highway. Free, well-lighted parking is available on Lake Avenue and surrounding side streets, with free parking lots located behind The Playhouse.
