THE WATERFRONT PLAYHOUSE PRESENTS AWARD-WINNING PLAY "AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY"

Fasten your seat belts Key West - "August: Osage County" begins a four week run December 20th at the Waterfront Playhouse. This dazzling play has won every major theater award, including the 2008 Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award and Drama Desk Award for Best Play. Written by Tracy Letts, "August" has garnered rave reviews that playwrights usually only dream about. The New York Times raved, "'August' is flat-out, no asterisks and without qualifications the most exciting new American play Broadway has seen in years."

"August: Osage County" is the story of one family with way too many secrets. When the family patriarch mysteriously disappears, the Weston clan gathers at their rural Oklahoma homestead. Their reunion is rocked when shocking truths are revealed and an emotional Armaggedon erupts. The results are fiercely funny and powerfully moving. Christine Dolen of the Miami Herald raved "This magnificent play manages to be well-made and utterly contemporary. Not to mention hugely entertaining."

The December 22nd opening will include a catered post-performance reception sponsored by Bunnie Smith. Please note that all curtain times are 7:30. Tickets are available for all performances, including the preview performances at www.waterfrontplayhouse.org. The production is sponsored by KEY TV and season sponsors are Wodu Media, Digital Island Media and ATT: The Real Yellow Pages.

Directed by artistic director, Danny Weathers, "August" features an outstanding ensemble of Key West actors: John Wells, Joy Hawkins, George diBraud, Bob Bowersox, Jessica Miano Kruel, Chris Stone, Tom Murtha, Kyle Caskey, George Murphy, Joe McMurray and new to the Waterfront stage are Stephanie Yosen, Nicole Nurenberg and Shakti Assouline.
