Returning By Popular Demand - FST Extends The All Night Strut!
Due to extreme audience demand, Florida Studio Theatre has extended the first show of summer season, The All Night Strut conceived by Fran Charnas. The show, which opened on June 13th, 2007, is filling up very quickly. Therefore, FST has added 3 more performances in the Keating Theatre:

Thursday July 5th @ 8 p.m
Friday July 6th @ 8 p.m
The All Night Strut is a revival of FST's hit musical celebration of the 1930s and '40s. From the funky jive of Harlem to the romance of the Stage Door Canteen, this is an evening filled with jazz, blues, bebop and classic songs. An international hit, it has delighted audiences with its sublime music including 'Minnie the Moocher,' 'In the Mood,' 'Fascinating Rhythm,' and 'As Time Goes By.'
Don't miss the show the Sarasota Herald-Tribune calls "...a perfect matinee or after-dinner treat."
The All Night Strut is a compilation of the catchy and memorable musical hits of the 30s and 40s. While celebrating what is considered the greatest musical era, it also takes us back to re-examing the hisotry of World War II and the Great Depression. The songs cover topics from love and heartache to war and poverty, protraying Americans' lives in this significant time with purpose and optimism.
Perfecting the glorious harmonies in The All Night Strut are four returning FST artists including Jennifer Johns, Sophia Hinshelwood, Joel Newsome, and Jim Weaver. Hinshelwood, Newsome, and Weaver last 'strutted their stuff' at Florida Studio Theatre in the 2007 Cabaret production of Over the Rainbow: A Tribute to Harold Arlen. Miss Johns last performed at Florida Studio Theatre in My Way: A Tribute to Frank Sinatra.
