The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County Present ALL NEW PEOPLE, Beginning 1/10

Zoetic Stage and The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County proudly present the Florida premiere of Zach Braff's critically-acclaimed play ALL NEW PEOPLE, a hilarious new comedy which takes a fresh look at unexpected, accidental friendships that arise in life's most trying moments. Playing January 10 - 27, 2013 in the intimate Carnival Studio Theater (Ziff Ballet Opera House), ALL NEW PEOPLE is the second show in Zoetic Stage's 2012-2013 season and the fourth installment of the Arsht Center's 2012-13 Theater Up Close series which features artistic collaborations from stellar local theater ensembles and nationally acclaimed theater companies.

ALL NEW PEOPLE, directed by Zoetic Stage artistic director Stuart Meltzer, takes place during the dead of winter in a luxury beach house on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. The play's lead character Charlie, played in London's West End by Zach Braff and now portrayed by Carbonell Award nominee Nicholas Richberg, is a thirty-something who has hit rock bottom. His perfect escape is soon interrupted by a parade of hilarious misfits -- a gorgeous call girl (Betsy Graver), a fire fighter who also happens to be a drug dealer (Todd Allen Durkin), and an eccentric British real estate agent (Amy McKenna) -- who are somehow sent to save his life. Author Zach Braff has described the play as "The Breakfast Club for adults."

Zoetic Stage was founded in 2010 by South Florida theater artists intent on producing world-class work. In partnership with the Arsht Center, the company co-presents three exciting productions in the 2012-2013 season. Following ALL NEW PEOPLE, the series will conclude with EVan Smith's Southern comedy, THE SAVANNAH DISPUTATION, April 11-28, 2013.

Zach Braff's (Playwright) feature film writing and directorial debut, Garden State, premiered at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival and earned him a coveted WGA nomination for "Best Original Screenplay." The film also earned him an Independent Spirit Award for "Best First Feature" as well as a nomination for "Best First Screenplay." In addition, Braff was awarded "Best Directorial Debut" by the National Board of Review, "Breakthrough Director" by the Hollywood Film Festival and "Most Promising Filmmaker" by the Chicago Film Critics Association. Braff recently wrapped the independent film, High Cost Of Living, for director Deborah Chow, and will next direct the feature, Swingles. Braff was nominated for a 2005 Primetime Emmy Award and a 2005, 2006 and 2007 Golden Globe award for his portrayal of Dr. John "J.D." Dorian in NBC's comedy "Scrubs." His film credits include roles in The Broken Hearts Club, Getting To Know You, Manhattan Murder Mystery, DreamWorks' The Last Kiss and The Weinstein Company's The Ex. In addition to his role in last summer's Trust at Second Stage, Zach's stage experience includes roles in the Public Theater Productions of Twelfth Night and Macbeth directed by George C. Wolfe. Zach is a native of New Jersey and graduate of Northwestern.
