Take A Sneak Peek at G&L Theatre

Residential home to TheatreZone opens its doors Sunday, Nov. 13 for an intimate look behind-the-scenes and theatre panel discussion led by celebrated stage manager Paul Phillips

How did Judy Garland overcome her stage fright? What was Gwen Verdon's ritual before each performance? Where did David Merrick hide his various toupees?

Learn the answers to these questions and many other insider anecdotes about legendary theatre performers from one of Broadway's great stage managers at TheatreZone's annual Sneak Peek, held in the G&L Theatre, Sunday, November 13 at 2 pm.

TheatreZone Board member Paul Phillips, stage manager for Gwen Verdon on Sweet Charity and Chicago and life long companion of Ms. Verdon, joins artistic director Mark Danni, choreographer Karen Molnar and other TheatreZone personnel in a panel discussion about the behind-the-scenes shenanigans in professional theatre.

"TheatreZone hosts an annual Sneak Peek to offer the public a chance to take a look at our upcoming season's performances while giving guests an intimate look at what's involved in producing professional theatre," explains Danni. "It's a fun Sunday afternoon with actors, board members, ambassadors, and volunteers who are all passionate about professional theater. Attendees may also tryout any one of our 250 seats, and pick up their own complimentary TheatreZone coffee mug," he continues.

"Season and individual show tickets may be purchased at this time, too," he adds.

TheatreZone's Sneak Peek takes place Sunday, November 13 at 2 pm in the G&L Theater, located on the campus of The Community School of Naples, at 13792 Livingston Road, just north of Pine Ridge Road.

The Sneak Peek is free, open to the public and includes backstage tours, refreshments and little sweet treats (brownies, cookies and pastries) from Chef Kristofer Jubinville of the breakfast-and-lunch restaurant Trail Café & Grill in Naples.

Reservations are not required.

In 2005, non-profit TheatreZone was born on two concepts: an affinity and nostalgia for the stage, and for the intimacy of live audiences. Co-founders artistic director Mark Danni and his wife, actress/choreographer Karen Molnar shared a vision and a passion to bring Equity professional actors, and produce talented and innovative productions of classic "lost treasures of Broadway" to Southwest Florida.

Upcoming Season 7 productions include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Dec. 1-11, 2011); Company (Jan. 5-15, 2012); Little Women (March 8-18, 2012) and The Boyfriend (May 3-13, 2012).

Season tickets (four shows) range from $172 - $192 and individual seats costs $43 - $48 plus a $2 per ticket fee. A mini series (3 shows) and group rates are also available.
