for Mother's Day

at Stage Aurora!

Winner of 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical

Stage Aurora Theatrical Company announced its upcoming production of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, The Wiz. Opening on May 11 and running through May 13 (MOTHER'S DAY)

THE WIZ will feature Darryl ReuBen Hall as THE WIZ with Direction by Roumel Reaux (Broadway company), Choreography by Prince Rod; Music Direction by Jason Alexander, and Props by Ricky Hesson. Performances will take place at the Stage Aurora Performance Hall located at 5188 Norwood Avenue inside Gateway Town Center.

Winner of 7 Tony awards, this beloved Broadway musical sets Dorothy's adventures in the Land of Oz to music in a dazzling, lively mixture of rock, gospel, and soul. The Wiz first appeared on Broadway in 1974 and was written by William F. Brown with Music and Lyrics by Charles Smalls featuring such classic songs as "Ease On Down the Road", "Home", and "Everybody Rejoice."

The cast of over 30 features Brendy Merricks (Dorothy), Damien Lamar, Gregory Pittman, Seth Ward, Sam Brown, Patrick Johnson, Alease Kelly (Glinda/ Auntie Em); Toni Diamond-Bingham (Evillene), Adrenia Kemp, Amahre Palmer, Angele Dubin, Bianca Petty, CAl Jackson, Cris Carter Wright, Gail Leonard, Jayla Royal, Kathy Surcey, Lauren Harrell, Lolita Jennings Flagg, Mark Williams, Jr.; Michelle Kronen, Roxann Hilbert, Staci Anderson, Wilfred 'Dubbie' Reddick; Zahria Womack, with Dancers: Shirley Adonis, Amber Miller, Tiffany Wright, Ryan Thomas, and Patricia Winn.
