Stardust Roller Skating Rink Offers Promotions For XANADU At Van Wezel

The hilarious ROLLER SKATING musical adventure XANADU will be on stage at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on Tuesday, April 20 and Wednesday, April 21 at 8 p.m.

The Stardust Event Center Roller Skating Rink in Sarasota is promoting XANADU for the next two weekends (April 10 and April 17) at their skating sessions for children, teenagers and adults. Skaters will be eligible to receive a free ticket to XANADU at various times during the skating sessions.

In addition, any ticket purchased for XANADU will allow the person to receive a "2-for-1" admission to STARDUST during the next year.

This hilarious roller skating musical adventure set in the year 1980, follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens to inspire the greatest of artistic achievements-the first roller disco! Along the way she falls in forbidden love with a mortal and chaos abounds when her jealous sisters take advantage of The Situation.

It is interesting to note that XANADU songwriter, John Farrar, also wrote two hit songs for Grease and he was the leader of the popular British symphonic rock band ELO/Electric Light Orchestra. XANADU the Broadway musical comedy won two prestigious theater awards: Outer Critics Circle Award for "Outstanding New Broadway Musical and Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical.(Kelly Butler)
