After years of playing on stages throughout the Tampa Bay area, Stageworks will be opening its doors and cutting the ribbon to its permanent home in the Grand Central at Kennedy Complex in the revitalized Channel District!

On Thursday, August 11 at 11 AM, Stageworks invites the community to join them in celebrating at the ribbon cutting ceremony. The Tampa Bay community has been a huge part of creating this wonderful home, so it is only fitting to have the whole community join them in celebrating.

This opening has been anticipated and worked toward for over two decades by Ms. Brennen, who was later joined by Board President Andrea Graham. "It's been five years in the building, 28 years in the making, and endless hours of hoping, praying and fundraising, but at last we are there. A dream has come true, and the Stageworks philosophy remains intact with something for everyone, especially a home for our artists and at risk youth," said a very proud Founder/Producing Artistic Director Anna Brennen when making the announcement.

Please join Stageworks at 11 AM on August 11, 2011 in the courtyard at Grand Central in the Channel District for a brief presentation, celebration and first look into the new theatre.
About Stageworks:

Stageworks was founded in 1983 by Anna Brennen as a way to address issues of diversity and social change through theatre. In 2006, Anna was given the Artist of the Year Award by the Mayor of the City of Tampa, Pam Iorio. Stageworks' mission is to provide the highest quality professional theatre which respects, ignites and celebrates the human spirit while challenging the thresholds of intolerance and insensitivity.
