"SNOWSHOW is to clowning what Cirque du Soleil is to Circus." --  Variety

July 24 - August 17

Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House

All Tickets $55

It will be snowing this summer at the Adrienne Arsht Center, as the coolest act in popular entertainment storms into town. Following sold-out engagements in Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Barcelona, Madrid, London, and New York, the internationally acclaimed production SLAVA'S SNOWSHOW will have its Miami premiere at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County from July 24 through August 17.

Winner of London's Olivier Award for Best Entertainment and New York's prestigious Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience, SLAVA'S SNOWSHOW has been hailed by The London Independent as"an unmistakably unique, unmissable comedy masterpiece" with "stage effects that are dazzling" (Daily Mail) and a "finale that blows you away!" (Mail on Sunday.)

A cross between Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group, SLAVA'S SNOWSHOW takes audiences on an alluring 90-minute journey that is "pure magic…an evening of enchantment and fun (The Express.)" This entertainment phenomenon created by Slava, the original Cirque du Soleil's clown genius, is an awesome theatrical experience and a profoundly moving spectacle full of vibrant images, delightful comedy, music and snow—lots and lots of snow.

SLAVA'S SNOWSHOW features interactive special effects that reach beyond the proscenium and into the entire audience as the show culminates with a spectacular blizzard. The show fuses traditional clowning with contemporary theatrical techniques in partially improvised interactive scenes. SLAVA'S SNOWSHOW  is set to a powerful soundtrack that includes the heart-pounding primal rhythms of Carl Off's Carmina Burana, dramatizing one of the show's most climactic moments.

Produced by David J. Foster and Ross Mollision, SLAVA'S SNOWSHOW is the creation of Russian-born Slava Poulin. Inspired by the most famous mime artists of all time, including Charlie Chaplin, Marcel Marceau and Engibaro, Slava has dedicated his life since the age of 17 to re-claiming and re-establishing the art and craft of the true clown. After founding his own theater company "Litsedei" in 1979, Slava hastaken clowning out of the circus and into the streets, and from there to the major theaters around the world. Since its debut in1993, the show has traveled to over 25 countries, performing to more than 2.5 million patrons in 80 cities including London, Toronto, Paris, Rome, Lisbon, and Berlin.

Tickets for SLAVA'S SNOWSHOW are $55 and are available through the Adrienne Arsht Center box office at (305) 949-6722 or online at www.arshtcenter.org
