NEW REVUE CELEBRATES SONGS FROM SILVER SCREEN

Composer, conductor, musician, actor, director, (big breath) and musical director, Kevin Wallace, premieres his onstage tribute to big screen music, Silver Screen Serenade, at Seaside Music Theater, June 14 – July 8, at The News-Journal Center.

Wallace, who music directed SMT's winter sellout, Million Dollar Quartet, has created this special musical revue in celebration of movie song composers.

"No other theater piece celebrates the composers that wrote songs for movies. I think people are really going to love it," says Wallace of SERENADE. "It's G-rated, perfect for every age, from child to senior citizen. There's truly something for everyone."

Wallace isn't exaggerating. Silver Screen Serenade covers over 70 years of cinema's best music and features over 70 songs, some full-length and some worked into entertaining montages.

Audiences can count on hearing a little bit of everything, including such classics as Puttin' on the Ritz, The Way You Look Tonight, Over the Rainbow, Buttons and Bows, The Trolley Song, Jailhouse Rock, Where the Boys Are, The Way We Were, Up Where We Belong, My Heart Will Go On, and many, many more. The revue even includes its own symphonette of instrumental movie themes, including Tara's Theme, Chariots of Fire, and even the theme from Jaws.

Pay tribute to the music that has made movies memorable at Silver Screen Serenade, presented by Seaside Music Theater, June 14 – July 8, at The News-Journal Center, located at 221 N. Beach Street in Daytona Beach.

Silver Screen Serenade is directed and music directed by Kevin Wallace, with choreography by Susan Streater, costume design by Brian J. O'Keefe, set design by Kimberly Cox, lighting design by Annmarie Duggan and sound design by Jason Hoffman.
