Sally Ann Howes and More Set for Career Transition For Dancers' GLAMOUR AT THE MOVIES Tonight

Career Transition For Dancers presents The Fourth Annual "HEART & SOUL" Celebration: GLAMOUR AT THE MOVIES dance - Dance - DANCE tonight, April 4, at Club Colette, 215 Peruvian Avenue in Palm Beach, FL. Musical actress Sally Ann Howes will Host and Arlene Dahl is the Special Guest Star.

Star of stage, film and television Sandy Duncan is the Special Dance Award Honoree. The spectacular evening begins with cocktails at 6:30pm, then dinner and a dance performance at 7:30 pm followed by dancing into the night. The benefit will honor Susan Keenan and The Honorable Mary Ourisman. The Chairs are: Anka K. Palitz, Vicki & Chris Kellogg, Cheryl Gowdy, Sandy & Greg Kriser, and George Palladino.

Sally Ann Howes starred with Dick Van Dyke in the film musical "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." Her stage and film career began in London before coming here to replace Julie Andrews in "My Fair Lady." Besides other Broadway shows and films, she has starred in "The King and I", "The Sound of Music" and many other shows around the country and in London's West End. Arlene Dahl is a MGM movie star, and has appeared on many TV shows. One of her long running roles was on "One Life To Live.

"The multi talented Sandy Duncan is a three-time Tony Award nominee; star of numerous Disney films, and the film "Star Spangled Girl" by Neil Simon as well as the host of Disney TV Specials. One of her best known credits is starring on Broadway in "Peter Pan." The familiar face has had several TV series and starred on many shows. She also starred in a special Radio City Music Hall show with The Rockettes.

Entertainment for the benefit includes a performance by students from The Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts Dance Department (West Palm Beach, FL) which provides an outstanding arts-centered education in concert with a strong academic program for students with exceptional ability in communication arts, dance, music, theatre, digital media, and visual arts. Former Joffrey Ballet dancer and Dean of Dance, Jan Goetz, stated "What a wonderful opportunity for the dancers to participate in this event that is a celebration of dance and the movies."

In Florida alone, the organization has provided 115 dancer-clients with 448 hours of individual career counseling and 72 Florida dancer-clients have received $135,000 in educational and entrepreneurial grants.

Career Transition For Dancers, with offices in New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago, has helped over 5,700 professional dancers identify their unique talents in preparation for establishing new careers when dance is no longer an option. Since its founding in 1985, the organization has provided 60,000 hours (equivalent to $6.6 million) of one-on-one career counseling and program services - at no cost - and has awarded millions of dollars in scholarships for education, entrepreneurial grants, and certification programs. The organization also provides dancers with specialized services including transition seminars and workshops, peer support groups, resource centers, a toll-free national career counseling hotline, and the National Career Network.
