RESPECT, which has been continuously evolving since its debut as a one-woman show in 1999, is an entertaining, exuberant and exhilarating look at the lives of women as reflected in the popular music of the 20th Century. The show ran for over a year at the Cuillo Centre for the Arts in West Palm Beach and for six months at the Stage Door 26th Street Theatre in Fort Lauderdale, before ‘going on the road' and playing in multiple cities across the United States - including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Detroit, Green Bay and Minneapolis. RESPECT has also ‘gone international' - playing to enthusiastic houses in Melbourne and Brisbane Australia. This production arrives in Coral Springs fresh from a 20 week engagement in Philadelphia, and 8 sold out weeks in Phoenix.

Based on her book, RESPECT: Women and Popular Music, Vanderbilt Professor Dr. Dorothy Marcic's RESPECT: A Musical Journey of Women chronicles the progress of women through the 20th Century, as played out against the songs they were listening to during various periods in their lives. Featuring a talented and powerful ensemble cast of four and a live band, the musical features more than 60 songs, ranging from "I Wanna Be Loved by You", "Won't You Come Home, Bill Bailey", and "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend", to "Whatever Lola Wants", These Boots are Made for Walkin'", and "Born A Woman", to "I Will Survive", "Hero" and "Video." Men as well as women have no trouble at all identifying with the messages of encouragement and empowerment that RESPECT portrays.

Tickets for RESPECT are $52 and $47 (Wednesdays and Thursdays) and $57 and $49.50 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) and are available for purchase on line at: www.coralspringscenterforthearts.com or by calling the theater's box office at 954-344-5990.
Performances are Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. For group discounts (20 or more) call 888-264-1788.

RESPECT: A Musical Journey of Women is produced by Philip Roger Roy and Dana Matthow, producers of A Jew Grows in Brooklyn, and directed by veteran Broadway Producer and Director Bud Martin, whose recent producer credits include London's current hit Legally Blond and the New York productions of 9 to 5 and Burn the Floor.
