Danny Weathers, the Waterfront's Artistic Director, directs the South Florida premiere of "Reefer Madness" and he has assembled a talented cast of fourteen performers. Musical Direction is by Michael Fauss and choreography by Penny Leto. This is the same team behind last year's smash "Urinetown." "Reefer Madness" is sponsored through the generosity of Fairvilla Megastore.

"Reefer Madness" tells the story of Jimmy Harper, an upstanding youth who becomes a whacked-out pot fiend after just one 'toke' of the evil reefer. After he meets a group of tainted misfits, he is immediately sucked into a world of weed freaks, orgies, hallucinations and brownies! USA Today calls "Reefer Madness" - "a delirious romp, which reaches highs of intoxicating goofiness."

The story is propelled along by over-the-top singing, dancing and lung-filled pandemonium that will have you laughing. The New York Daily News said "'Reefer Madness' is deliberately outlandish and silly. And that's what makes it so good."

The cast includes David Black, Denis Hyland, Mary Falconer, Marc Crow, Kristen Bussiere, Nulita Loder, Michael Aaglan, Kristen Wilson, Laura Chaneski, Carolyn Cooper, Christine Marguerite, Rhett Kalman, Scott Shambaugh and Phil Tabb.

The Waterfront's Michael Boyer created the set with Kim Hanson designing the lighting. Leigh Hooten designed the costumes, Allen Gallant the sound, Scott Zimmerman created the props and Lisa Alderdice is the stage manager.

Audience Advisory: "Reefer Madness" is a highly-stylized show that contains adult humor, suggested violence, sexual situations, religious parody and simulated marijuana use. It may prove TOO SHOCKING for the conservatively minded!

Tickets for "Reefer Madness" may be purchased through the box office at 305-294-5015 or with their 24/7 online ticketing service at www.waterfrontplayhouse.com. Tickets are $35, with student tickets (under age 25) at $20 with a student or college ID. Call the box office about their locals special.
