The Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary Art Fair, presented by Art Miami and sponsored by the City of West Palm Beach, will return for its second edition in West Palm Beach's Tent Site (825 S Dixie Hwy & Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach) located directly behind the new Restoration Hardware on Thursday, January 11th, 2018.

The fair will open on Thursday evening with an exclusive VIP Preview at 5:00pm benefiting The Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society, The Joe Namath Neurological Research Center and the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens. The Fair is sponsored by Christie's International Real Estate, "The Official Luxury Real Estate sponsor of Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary," and together with its international affiliates, will host an elegant booth at the main entrance of the fair, showcasing luxury residential property offerings from around the world.

As the newest addition to the prestigious Art Miami Group which just celebrated its 28th year, Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary brings a world-class art fair to Palm Beach. The fair, which curates and offers the best investment quality works from the 20th and 21st centuries, will take place in the intimate and modern setting of a 65,000-square-foot clear span pavilion centrally located between CityPlace and the luxurious Hilton West Palm Beach.

Collectors, art connoisseurs and art world luminaries alike will have the opportunity to acquire investment quality Blue Chip, Modern and Contemporary, and Post-War works from more than 50 top international galleries over the five days of the fair during Martin Luther King holiday weekend. These premier galleries will come from as far as Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, The Netherlands, Portugal, and Venezuela. Participating galleries have previously been featured in numerous prominent international fairs including TEFAF in Maastricht and New York, The Armory Show, Masterpiece London, Art Miami, Expo Chicago, and many others.

Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary has partnered with the historic Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, which will serve as a satellite venue and benefactor of the fair, and commemorate the fair with a special exhibit, Celebrating Boaz Vaadia 1951-2017, which will feature monumental and small-scale sculptures, and continue to be on display through April 2017, courtesy of Sponder Gallery. Israeli-born artist Boaz Vaadia is best known for the figurative sculptures he made by carving and stacking stones that he found in the area surrounding his New York studio. Vaadia's public works can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, San Francisco MoMA, the Bass Museum of Art, and the Tel Aviv Museum. A complimentary daily shuttle service will be available between the fair and the Gardens during general show hours.

Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary is pleased to announce that the recipient of their second annual Professional Achievement in the Arts Award is Rena Blades, President and CEO of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County. Since her appointment in May 2004, Rena has championed The Palm Beaches' evolution into one of the country's best destinations for cultural tourism and a role model for community access to public art. Previously, she served as Executive Director of the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science in Tallahassee, and President of the Florida Art Museum Director's Association. Ms. Blades will be presented with the accolade at an invitation-only reception.

55Bellechasse will present RAWK by rock 'n' roll icon Jason Newsted, formerly of Metallica. RAWK is the Grammy Award winning bassist's third artistic show and half of all sales will be donated to the Perry J. Cohen Foundation; an organization devoted to the advancement of the arts, environmental, marine and wildlife education and preservation, teenage entrepreneurship, and boating safety education. In addition, a retrospective of his visual art and music career is currently on exhibit at the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County in downtown Lake Worth as part of their 40th anniversary celebration.

Newsted and Amir Tal, a member of his band, The Chophouse Band, will kick off Palm Beach Art Week by performing at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens on January 10th, 2018 between 6pm and 8pm during a cocktail reception supported by Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary.

Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary is in close proximity to the city's art, design and antique row district, and within walking distance to popular Clematis Street, local museums, parks and historical points of interest. The famed island of Palm Beach with world-class shopping is less than a quarter mile east. The fair's refined ambiance will be welcoming and appealing to all levels of visitors, from the seasoned collector looking to acquire new works to the budding art enthusiast looking to start a new meaningful collection.
