"Proof"
by David Auburn
Opening May 25th
Don & Ann Brown Theatre

West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, concludes its spring season with David Auburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Proof" on Friday, May 25th (8PM) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre(201 Clematis Street). Special priced preview performances are slated for May 23rd & 24th with regularly scheduled curtain times through June 17th.

Set in Chicago, Proof explores the struggles of the daughter of a brilliant, but mentally disturbed mathematician. Preparing for his funeral, Catherine tries to come to grips with her possible inheritance - his insanity or his genius. Proof is a story of human relationships and how the uncertainty of love can be just as challenging as the uncertainty of a mathematical proof.

Producing Artistic Director, William Hayes will direct the production featuring Cliff Burgess, Kenneth Kay, Katherine Michelle Tanner and Sarah Grace Wilson.The play will feature scenery designed by Michael Amico, costumes designed by Erin Amico, lights designed by Ron Burns and sound designed by Rich Szczublewski.

American playwright David Auburn is best known for this 2000 play. Proof won the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize in 2001. His first full-length play, Skyscraper, premiered off-Broadway in 1997 and his most recent play, The Columnist is currently on Broadway. His film credits include The Lake House, The Girl in the Park, and the 2005 screen adaptation of Proof.

Palm Beach Dramaworks is a non-profit, professional theatre and is a member of the Theatre Communications Group, the South Florida Theatre League, Southeastern Theatre Conference, Florida Professional Theatres Association, Florida Theatre Conference, and the Palm Beach County Cultural Council.

The performance schedule is as follows: Evening performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 8PM with select Sunday evening performances at 7PM; Matinee performances are Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2PM.

Individual tickets are $55 for all performances. Student tickets are available for $10. Group rates for 20 or more, and discounted season subscriptions are also available.

The Dramaworks' Don & Ann Brown theatre is located in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach, at 201 Clematis Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33401.
