Marlene & Martin Silver, Chairs of Palm Beach Dramaworks' much-anticipated 16th Anniversary Gala, gave a jump-start to the festivities on January 20 when they hosted a cocktail reception for the Gala Committee at Club Colette. The main event takes place on Saturday, March 12 at 6:30pm, when the Kravis Center's Cohen Pavilion will be transformed into a chic nightclub evoking such celebrated venues as the Cotton Club, the Stork Club, the Latin Quarter, and El Morocco.
The theme of the evening is "Swingin' at the Supper Club," and the joint will be jumping and jiving with swing and jazz played by George Lilly & the Half Fast All Stars. Special entertainment will be provided by Tracey Conyer Lee and Brian P. Whitted, who thrilled PBD audiences last season in Lainie Robertson'sLady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill. Lee gave a remarkable performance as Billie Holiday, and Whitted was her onstage accompanist and the show's music director. They reunite to perform a selection of Billie Holiday classics.
Proceeds from the benefit will support PBD. Individual tickets are $600 and Tables of Ten begin at $6,000.
All tickets are tax deductible as provided by law.
Sponsorships are still available.
The evening's honorary chairs are Esther & Sid Dinerstein.
