Palm Beach Dramaworks is pleased to announce that Stephen M. Rabb and Marlene Silver have joined the board of directors.
Stephen M. Rabb has extensive senior corporate management and community service experience in providing broad-spectrum business operations and human resources leadership. He worked for more than 33 years at Science Applications International Corporation, first as corporate vice president for administration and human resources director, and then, after "semi-retiring," as senior executive management and development consultant. During his career, SAIC grew from a small science and engineering research and development company with a few hundred employees to a world-wide technology leader with more than 42,000 employees. Prior to SAIC, Steve was director of industrial relations at Computer Sciences Corporation and a management analyst at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies. Steve's community service activities include serving on the Armory Art Center Board of Directors for many years, including three years as president: together with his wife, Marsha, he initiated and funded a hands-on arts program for Title 1 elementary school students. He also served for five years as as a tutor in the Palm Beach County Adult Literacy Program. Steve's personal interests include stone sculpture, theater, mountaineering, travel, reading and golf. He is a Phi Beta Kappa and cum laude graduate of Hunter College, and did his doctoral studies at Columbia University, where he was a Columbia Fellow.
Marlene Silver has been an active volunteer across several communities for over 35 years. From Toronto to Memphis, Telluride, Boca Raton, and now Palm Beach, various philanthropic endeavors and board responsibilities have included UJA/Federation, Memphis Federation campaign chair; Federation National Women's Board (Memphis); Memphis Jewish Foundation; Federation of South Palm Beach County; Jewish Women's Foundation South Palm Beach, co-chair; Jewish Women's Foundation of Palm Beach, Sparky Productions (Telluride); Telluride Community Foundation; Telluride Jazz Festival Board; the Commission for Jewish Education of the Palm Beaches; Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning, Palm Beach; Palm Beach Dramaworks, gala chair; and most recently as a board member for Stand With Us. A graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications, Marlene worked in radio news for many years for The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and then in media relations for the Royal Ontario Museum. She later worked in media relations at Bauhaus Canada Ltd., the furniture manufacturing firm owned by her husband, Martin Silver. Marlene is honored to serve the communities in which she lives.
Palm Beach Dramaworks is a non-profit, professional theatre and is a member of the Theatre Communications Group, the South Florida Theatre League, Florida Professional Theatres Association, and the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County.
