makes for a very exhilarating evening of theatre!

New Theatre's World Premiere of Property Line, by local Carbonell nominated playwright Juan C. Sanchez, running March 23 - April 8, 2012 stars Florida International University Alumnus Evelyn Perez, New World School of the Arts & Barry University Professor Scott Douglas Wilson, retired City of Miami police Lt. Bill Schwartz, University Center for the Performing Arts Director of Dance Barbara Sloan, and acting apprentice and student of Coral Reef Senior High Javier "Javi" Cabrera. In this relevant and funny play, two long-time friends and neighbors, portrayed by Ms. Perez and Ms. Sloan, are at war over 15 feet of green grass on waterfront property.

Ms. Perez is a native of Miami, Fl. and has a BFA from Florida International University. She has performed in numerous Theatre productions throughout the State of Florida. Among them with Coconut Grove Playhouse, Actors Playhouse, GableStage, Hollywood Playhouse, Florida Stage, Teatro Avante, The Kravis Center and New Theatre. In addition, she has been active in commercials and independent film projects, one of which was a finalist for Project Greenlight. Property Line marks her fourth production with New Theatre.

Mr. Wilson is an adjunct faculty member at the New World School of the Arts & Barry University. He has worked professionally in New York City & Boston. Past New Theatre credits include Winter, Henry V, and Fizz. Scott is a 2012 Carbonell nominee (Best Actor) for the Infinite Abyss production of The Pillowman, and has appeared in Lombardi (Mosaic Theatre), Angel Eaters (Infinite Abyss), and Billboard (The State Theatre Project), among others.

Mr. Cabrera is a high school student in the Theatre Academy at Coral Reef Senior High School and is currently making his New Theatre debut in the acting apprentice program.

Mr. Schwartz was professionally active on stage in the 1970's, appearing in dinner theatre, at the Coconut Grove Playhouse and Vinette Carol's theatre in New York City. He also performed with Sarasota's Asolo Touring Theatre in a nine month run, which included the Kennedy Center in Washington, D. C. In 1979 he started playing the real life role of a police officer. Lt. Bill Schwartz retired from the Miami Police Department as commander of its Public Information Office in 2008. Now back in the professional theatre, Mr. Schwartz has proudly worked at New Theatre, GableStage, Florida Stage and Zoetic Stage and is also a busy artist model, active in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Barbara Sloan is no stranger to New Theatre having performed in the World Premiere of Winter and last season's one person show, High Dive among others. She has performed in numerous productions across South Florida garnering five Carbonell Nominations. Three of those nominations were for her roles at New Theatre. Other favorite plays include The Color of Desire (Actor's Playhouse), the one woman show 2.5 Minute Ride (Mosaic Theater), Strange Snow, The Real Thing, and Burn This (GableStage) and The Disputation (Coconut Grove Playhouse). When not onstage, Ms. Sloan teaches dance and is the Director of Dance at the University Center for the Performing Arts.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Ricky J. Martinez, the play comes to life with the support of the artistic team: Production Stage Manager, Jerry Jensen; Scenic Designer: Andrew Rodriguez-Triana; Costume Designer: K. Blair Brown and Sound Designer: Ozzie Quintana and Lighting Designer: Eric J. Cantrell. Property Line is made possible in part by season programming support from the Miami Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the Affairs Council, the Mayor, and the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners.
