Tennessee Williams' classic A Streetcar Named Desire

New Theatre closes its 25th Anniversary Season with Tennessee Williams' classic masterpiece, A Streetcar Named Desire, running May 27 - June 12, 2011. This modern classic follows the decline of a fading Southern belle and the sexy, beer-chugging barbarian responsible for her tragic fall.

See the play that coined the famous line: "Stella...Stella!"

A Streetcar Named Desire is directed by THE NEW's Artistic Director, Ricky J. Martinez with a stellar cast lead by THE NEW veterans Elise Girardin as Stella, Angie Radosh as Blanche and making his New Theatre debut, Travis Reiff as Stanley. THE NEW veteran Steven A. Chambers, Clint Hooper and Dawn A. Plummer round out the ensemble along with Kitt Marsh, John McGlothlin and Charlie Sothers, all of whom are making their New Theatre debut. Returning to THE NEW are Production Stage Manager Christy Delgado; Set Designer: Nicole Quintana; Sound Designer Ozzie Quintana and Lighting Designer: Kris Cardenas, making his New Theatre debut. A Streetcar Named Desire is made possible in part by the support from Citizens Interested in Arts, and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners.

Performances are Thursday - Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 1 pm & 5:30 pm.
NO 5:30 pm performance on Sunday, May 29

Special performance & "meet-the-artist" reception with the cast at SAWA Restaurant on
Friday, May 27, 2011 following the 8:00 pm performance.
