NEW THEATRE KICKS OFF ITS 2009-2010 SEASON WITH SHAKESPEARE'S COMEDY - THE TAMING OF THE SHREW
New Theatre kicks of its 2009-2010 Season with Shakespeare's comedy, The Taming of the Shrew adapted by Roberto Prestigiacomo. This classic battle-of-the-sexes romp is the tale of a shrewish woman and her strong-willed husband, both causing havoc on the conventions of courtship and marriage.
Director and adapter, Roberto Prestigiacomo, masterfully directs The Taming of the Shrew in a traditional "comedia del'arte" style. New Theatre veterans Israel Garcia, Clint Hooper, Stephen Neal, Jackie Rivera and Christopher Vicchiollo are joined by Karen Garcia, Rusty Allison and Joshua Horn, all making their New Theatre debut. Rounding out the cast is Acting Apprentices/Interns Adriana Perez and Dawn Plummer. Also making her New Theatre debut will be Production Stage Manager Dana Hesch with a returning design team of Lighting Designer Travis Neff, Sound Designer Matt Corey, Costume Designer K. Blair Brown and Scenic Designer Nicole Quintana.
The production of The Taming of the Shrew is sponsored in part by Funding Arts Network.
