New Theatre kicks off its 26th 2011-2012 Season with

Shakespeare's family history Henry V

New Theatre's (THE NEW) 26th Season kicks off the "family" theme with the Bard's family history, Henry V, adapted and directed by Ronald Mangravite, running August 26 - September 11, 2011. Shakepeare's triumphant drama tells the story of Henry V, once an unruly, wild and Heavy Drinking adolescent, who is now King of England and must inspire and lead his soldiers into war against France over land and titles.

Under the direction of Ronald Mangravite, the play is a mix of the medieval and the contemporary, with non traditional casting. In the lead role of Henry V is Sipiwe Moyo, making her New Theatre debut, surrounded by an inspired ensemble cast. THE NEW veterans, Ronald Mangravite, Charles Sothers, Tara Vodihn and Scott Douglas Wilson, joined by THE NEW newcomers Robert Alter, Merry Jo Cortada, Christina Groom and Jordy Diaz from their internship/apprentice program round out the cast.

Making his New Theatre debut as Production Stage Manager is Jerry Jensen with Lighting Designer: Kris Cardenas; Costume Designer: K. Blair Brown; Sound Designer Ozzie Quintana and Set Construction: Tom Badey. Henry V is made possible in part by foundation support from the Funding Arts Network and season programming support from The City of Coral Gables and the Miami Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the Affairs Council, the Mayor, and the Miami Dade County Board of County Commissioners.
