New American Theater hosts benefit for Una Voce
New American Theater continues their popular cabaret series with Mark Bowers and Joey Panek in "Two Voices: A Benefit Cabaret for Una Voce: The Florida Men's Chorale" on November 18 & 19, 2011 at 8:00pm. The show will feature songs from Broadway and movies, as well as popular songs by artists such as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Michael Buble. The evening also features some improv and audience participation.
"Mark and I have selected an evening of music that people will know and enjoy," Panek explains, "but there will definitely be some musical surprises. It's going to be a fun night." The performers are donating their proceeds to Una Voce: The Florida Men's Chorale. Una Voce's mission is to "express through excellence in men's choral music the inherent worth and dignity of all people in order to foster a global community that celebrates and embraces diversity." The Tampa Bay organization recently celebrated its 15th year.
Mark Bowers is an active member of Una Voce. Panek has performed all over the country and in many local fundraisers, including Suncoast AIDS Theater Project. He will also be performing in NAT's "SantaLand Diaries" in December. The two perfomers are joined by William Bryant at the piano.
