Neil Simon's

Chapter Two

At the
Boca Raton Theatre Guild
January 8th - 17th

The Boca Raton Theatre Guild's production of Neil Simon's Chapter Two, will open on January 8th and run through January 17th at the Willow Theatre in Boca Raton's Sugar Sand Park.

Chapter Two has long been considered one of Simon's finest comedies as well as an autobiographical revelation of Simon's own experiences after the death of his first wife.  All about letting go and starting over, Chapter Two has been lauded for its witty dialogue, sharply drawn characters and hilarious situations. The play centers around four brilliantly penned characters: mourning writer George Schneider; level-headed actress Jenny Malone; George's garrulous but loving brother Leo; and Jenny's utterly clueless but enchanting friend, Faye.

Director Genie Croft says, "I am so pleased to have the opportunity to bring to life Neil Simon's romantic comedy-drama. It's his most autobiographical and painful writing in its exploration of a second marriage, yet it mingles emotionally rich moments of hilarity with the heartache."

Croft has assembled an excellent cast for the production:

Keith Garsson (George Schneider) is a Neil Simon veteran, having previously appeared in the playwright's California Suite, Plaza Suite and Rumors. He recently directed the Boca Raton Theatre Guild's production of Into the Woods  and will helm the Guild's  upcoming Carousel in March.

Jacqueline Laggy's (Jenny Malone) past roles with BRTG include Other People's Money and Last Night of Ballyhoo. She is a founding board member of The Women's Theatre Project in Ft. Lauderdale.

Steven A. Chambers will be making his BRTG debut as Leo Schneider. He was recently seen at Broward Stage Door in The Odd Couple and Knish Alley. Chambers has also appeared The Little Foxes (directed by Genie Croft), Same Time, Next Year and An Ideal Husband.

Merry Jo Cortada (Faye Medwick) has performed as a dancer, singer, actress, and voiceover artist up and down the Eastern Seaboard.  She recently appeared as Anita Bryant in the critically acclaimed production of Michael Yawney's 1000 Homosexuals at the Adrienne Arsht Centre for the Performing Arts.  She is a founding member and past president of The Women's Theatre Project.

The Boca Raton Theatre Guild is a community theatre and not-for-profit organization led by a group of volunteers dedicated to producing professional quality performances, advancing the art of theatre, and involving the community in all aspects of its activities.
