Actors' Playhouse will present the South Florida premiere of It Shoulda Been You from May 17 - June 11, 2017 at the Miracle Theatre. With an original book and lyrics by Brian Hargrove and music by Barbara Anselmi, It Shoulda Been You puts a refreshingly modern spin on the traditional wedding comedy, proving that when it comes to wedding day insanity, it's all relative.

In the hilarious and heartwarming musical It Shoulda Been You, it's a Culture Clash for the ages when two families from wildly different backgrounds come together to celebrate a wedding. The bride is Jewish. The groom is Catholic. Her mother is a force of nature; his mother is a tempest in a cocktail shaker. And, as if the union wasn't complicated enough, the bride's ex-boyfriend arrives, bringing the wedding to a screeching halt and throwing both families into hysterical chaos. Plots are hatched, promises broken, secrets exposed - and the bride's resourceful sister is left to turn an unmitigated disaster into happily ever after.

Director David Arisco has assembled an all-star cast to create the perfect wedding party including Erica Lustig as Rebecca Steinberg, Taylor Hilt Mitchell as Brian Howard, Cindy Pearce as Jenny Steinberg, Margot Moreland as Judy Steinberg, Oscar Cheda as Murray Steinberg, Mark A. Harmon as George Howard, Marcia McClain as Georgette Howard, Gabrielle Graham as Annie Shepard, Alexander Zenoz as Greg Madison, Tim Dolan as Marty Kaufman, Jeni Hacker as Mimsy/Aunt Sheila, Michael H. Small as Walt/Uncle Morty and Conor Walton as Albert.

The design and creative team for It Shoulda Been You includes Musical Direction by David Nagy, Choreography by Jeni Hacker, Scenic Design by Tim Bennett, Lighting Design by Eric Nelson, Sound Design by Shaun Mitchell, Costume Design by Ellis Tillman and Properties Design by Jodi Dellaventura.

The show will open on Friday, May 19 at 8 p.m. and play through June 11, 2017. Evening performances will be held Wednesday through Saturday at 8 p.m., with afternoon matinees on Sunday at 3 p.m. A special weekday matinee is scheduled on Wednesday, May 24 at 2 p.m.

Director David Arisco will lead a discussion group with actors and community guests following the performance on Friday, May 26, 2017 as part of the company's "Second Fridays" series.

Tickets for weeknights and matinees are $57, and on Friday and Saturday evenings $64. The theatre offers 10 percent off all weekday performances for seniors and $15 student rush tickets to any performance 15 minutes prior to curtain with identification. Discounts are based on availability.

Group discounted rates are offered for 15 or more through our group sales department. Single tickets may be purchased through the box office at 305-444-9293 or online at www.actorsplayhouse.org.
