January 14, 2016 at 8 pm (Thursday) PETER YARROW As a founding member of Peter, Paul and Mary, Peter Yarrow has entertained, challenged and inspired four generations of music lovers. A Peter Yarrow performance does more than assure a memorable evening of music, camaraderie and "Puff's special magic" for everyone, young and old alike. The songs that he wrote and performed with his musical compatriots, Mary and Paul, have changed and inspired millions to continue to keep on keepin' on, hold firm to principle, and not be deterred in the face of adversity. His performances create an environment in which a sense of reassuring commonality is shared at a time when society is deeply concerned for its welfare and its future.
In a recent interview in Indian River Magazine, Yarrow decribes his performance as being "like a Peter Paul and Mary concert in a lot of ways. My repertoire is Peter, Paul and Mary. It's a legacy of many, many decades now. The difference is that I'm singing alone. I sing the Peter, Paul and Mary repertoire but what I enjoy most is having the audience sing with me. Being a stalwart of the Pete Seeger variety, I've always used music as vehicle for creating community not just metaphorically but literally."
