Miami City Ballet (MCB) closes its 2018/19 season with the return of one of the Company's most extraordinary productions, the reimagining of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Balanchine's captivating story ballet based on William Shakespeare's timeless tale of love, magic, reality and illusion. Miami City Ballet will perform the legendary ballet in Miami at the Adrienne Arsht Center March 29-31; at in West Palm Beach at the Kravis Center April 5-7; and at the Broward Center April 13-14.
Miami City Ballet's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream transports audiences to the ocean floor, a perspective that's uniquely Floridian, through the creative collaboration of two internationally acclaimed artists: Michele Oka Doner's ravishing costumes and sets, and Wendall Harrington's innovative projection designs. Set to live Mendelssohn music (including the immortal Wedding March), this unforgettable oceanic spectacle features an impressive fairytale cast of 24 children, six vocalists and the breathtaking Miami City Ballet dancers.

On Saturday, March 30, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County will present its 11th annual free FAMILY FEST series with Ballet for Young People, Miami City Ballet's signature community outreach program. Guests are invited to attend an engaging and family-friendly performance featuring excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Following Miami City Ballet's season-closing program, the Company is looking ahead to performances in Ballet Across America at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC from May 31 to June 2, 2019. Performances include Walpurgisnacht Ballet (Balanchine/Gounod), Carousel Pas de Deux (MacMillan/Rodgers), Heatscape (Peck/Martin) and Brahms/Handel (Robbins, Tharp/Brahms).
