John Pizzarelli, With a Song in My Heart, Featuring the Music of Richard Rodgers
Friday, March 20th at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm
Renowned jazz guitarist, vocalist and bandleader John Pizzarelli was still a teenager when composer Richard Rodgers died in 1979, but the veteran songwriter's creative prowess was not lost on the budding young interpreter of the Great American Songbook.
Pizzarelli has been wowing audiences for over 25 years with his cool jazz guitar and vocal interpretations of classic standards and ballads. In this retrospective performance, Pizzarelli pays tribute to the timelessness of Rodgers' music, in his own inimitable style.
Pizzarelli's versatile and inventive arrangements will be featured on such beloved classics as "The Lady is a Tramp," and "You've Got To Be Carefully Taught," as well as lesser-known Rodgers tunes like "She Was Too Good To Me" and "Happy Talk." Indulge in the powerful performance of Pizzarelli! You'll be glad you did!
