Where can you find dinosaurs, superheros, magic and sharks under one roof?
At the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's popular Paul and Sandra Goldner Conservatory of Performing Arts camp programs, of course!
With a flexible schedule that includes optional pre-care and after-care, budding young performers ages 4 - 18 will participate in a broad range of theatre-related activities, including acting, dancing, singing, prop-making, improvisation, storytelling and more. Each summer camp concludes with a unique themed showcase performance. The two largest camp shows will be performed on the Theatre's stage: the Senior Conservatory's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and the Junior Conservatory's Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr.
"Our vacation camps have something for everyone, from dance, magic and musical theatre to comedy," said Julie Rowe, director of education for the Conservatory. "Our goal is to make sure that all of our students have fun, build confidence, express their creativity and have the opportunity to experience being part of a performance."
A great way to introduce young children to theatre, the Conservatory's vacation camp offerings include a Treasure Island-themed spring break camp (March 17 - 21), a one-day Improv Camp (March 24) and the beloved Junior and Senior Conservatory summer camps (grades 3-5 and 6-12). The Senior Conservatory will take place June 9 - 27 (with full performances of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on June 27 and 28), while the Junior Conservatory will take place July 7 - 26 (with a full performance of School House Rock Live! Jr. on July 25 and 26).
Other camp options include a four-day Magic camp for grades K-5 and a four-day Dinosaurs! Camp for Pre-K students age 4 and 5 (both June 30 - July 3); a one-week Superhero Camp for grades K-5 (July 28 - August 1); a one-week Shark Week! Camp for grades K-5 (August 4 - 8); and three sessions of two-week Dance Intensive Camps for grades 6-12 (June 30 - July 11, July 14 - 25 and July 28 - August 8).
"Our two-week dance intensive camp was so successful last summer that we are adding two additional sessions this year, creating options for campers and six weeks of dance led by Broadway veteran Brian Andrews," Rowe said. "We are also very excited to be offering our one-week dinosaur-themed camp for Pre-K students, in addition to our many options for grades K-12."
