Maltz Jupiter Theatre's Premier Annual Gala Raises $848,000

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre's exclusive annual gala Everything's Coming Up Roses broke all previous records andraised $848,000 for the not-for-profit Theatre.

More than 400 guests attended the dazzling benefit and live auction, held on Saturday, February 25. A celebration of the Theatre's success and a peek at what its future could be, the lavish affair treated guests to an evening of spectacular entertainment that showcased a bright future for the Theatre.

Dressed to the nines, chairman Sal Tiano and honorary chairman Michele Jacobs welcomed the evening's guests. Dramatic centerpieces with floating candlelight illuminated the celebration, while tables dressed in a palette of navy blue, blush and rose gold highlighted alluring starburst-style bouquets of blue hydrangeas, French white roses, blue delphinium and white orchids. White and gold butterflies served as the event's theme.

With a fundraising campaign for a major expansion currently underway - known as the Believe campaign - guests in glittering gowns and tuxedoes were treated to an immersive multimedia presentation that featured a 30-piece orchestra and unforgettable high-energy performances from more than 50 singers and dancers in stunning costumes. Guests wore light-up bracelets that changed colors along with the show and were encouraged to imagine limitless possibilities for the future of the regional theatre. A group of 80 children from the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Goldner Conservatory of Performing Arts earned a standing ovation following their performance of "The Impossible Dream (The Quest)" from the musical Man of La Mancha as a mass choir.

The magnificent evening honored longtime supporters Bonnie and Ogden White. Ardent friends of the Theatre since 2006, their first full season with the Theatre featured Ogden performing a walk-on role in the Theatre's production of Man of La Mancha and singing during the show's curtain call. Since then, they have enjoyed sharing their enthusiasm for the Theatre with their friends and neighbors on Jupiter Island, many of whom attended the gala to honor them and support the Theatre.

"We are so grateful to everyone who continues to trust in the future and mission of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, and we'd especially like to thank all of our supporters for their extraordinary generosity," said Andrew Kato, the Theatre's producing artistic director and chief executive. "As the largest regional theatre in Florida, we could not continue to thrive without those who contribute to the Theatre's success."

The exquisite event also featured dancing and a live auction, with proceeds that provided scholarships for 80 local children to attend classes and camps the Theatre's Conservatory during the upcoming school year.

"We are all so appreciative for the tremendous outpouring of support at our gala," said Pam Dyar, the Theatre's Director of Development. "We hope the evening inspired our friends and donors to 'Believe' in us and the exciting dreams we have for the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's future."

The Theatre recently unveiled plans for an ambitious future expansion that will improve production facilities and add educational opportunities for the not-for-profit regional theatre. The Theatre plans to expand its stage, enabling the Theatre to qualify for Pre-Broadway and National Tours, add a second space and double the size of the Theatre's Conservatory, allowing students the opportunity to receive a high-quality, dynamic arts education in state-of-the-art facilities.

Following cocktails at sunset, guests dined like royalty on a succulent three-course meal, featuring sliced tenderloin with sauce bordelaise coupled with garlic herb shrimp and a delicious deconstructed black forest dessert, showcasing rich chocolate sponge cake with dark chocolate mousse, cherry compote, Chantilly crème and a butterfly garnish.

Held at Trump National Golf Club Jupiter, the annual event raised funds for the Theatre's award-winning productions to help keep its performances affordable for all, as well as inspiring the next generation of young audiences through the Theatre's community outreach programs. It also helped support local families by providing scholarships.
