The Maltz Jupiter Theatre Conservatory of Performing Arts presents The Monologue Audition Workshop with Beverly Blanchette, Dean of the Theatre department, Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of Arts. The workshop will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Learn how to choose the right monologue to best showcase your individual talents. Receive direction on your monologue performance to get the most out of your audition. Find out how to market yourself for any type of audition - from community and professional theatre to film and television. Learn how to audition for actor training programs such as performing arts schools, universities and conservatories. Discover the business of the business; everything you need to know about agents, headshots, resumes, cold readings, and the slate. All levels of actors are invited to participate, from beginners to experts. Work at your own pace. Every participant should come to the workshop prepared to work on a memorized one-minute, published monologue (from a play, novel, film, or short story).
Please bring a clean copy of the monologue to the workshop and a snack and a drink. Dress as if going to an audition. Recommended for ages 10-17.
