Mad Cat Theatre Company continues its popular concert series MAD CAT LIVE! with their presentation of Harry Nilsson's THE POINT, an all ages concert about a boy named Oblio and his dog Arrow.

Oblio is the only round-headed person in the Pointed Village, where by law everyone and everything must have a point. Oblio and Arrow end up on a search to find out what exactly lies beyond the Pointed Village when they are suddenly banished to THE POINTless Forest. This musical fable will feature the talents of Erik Fabregat, Darren Bruck, Steph Taylor, Matt Corey, Jessica Farr and Paul Tei. Ted Chambers will be returning with his original visual content and Melissa Santiago will be returning to design lighting for the production.

The Mad Cat Live! Band features professional musicians and performers who have graduated from such prestigious schools as University of Miami School of Music and Berklee College of Music. Mad Cat Live! first began with the popular presentation of Paul & Linda McCartney's album RAM in August earlier this year. It featured Mad Cat Live! band members Erik Fabregat, Jim Camacho, Steph Taylor, Darren Bruck, Brian Sayre, and Matt Corey.

THE POINT is Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson's sixth studio album, coming out in 1971, right before Nilsson Schmilsson, arguably the high-water mark of Nilsson's musical career. Nilsson finds his own voice in a children's fable that is anything but childish. THE POINT is deliberate in its varied style, execution of performance and construction of inlaid messages within the lyrics. Artistic Director of Mad Cat Paul Tei says, on choosing THE POINT: "Unlike some of Nilsson's previous albums which may rely on sardonic irony and inside jokes, or a slightly detached sentimentalism, THE POINT garners its strength from the gentle honesty of the story and the loving caress Harry brings to the music."

Harry Nilsson said of his inspiration for THE POINT, "I was on acid and I looked at the trees and I realized that they all came to points, and the little branches came to points, and the houses came to points. I thought, "Oh! Everything has a point, and if it doesn't, then there's a point to it."
