Laughter was certainly in the air on Friday night, as was generosity at the opening of the new summer musical comedy, Married ALIVE! at Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in downtown Coral Gables. Audiences were treated to a riotous musical about the mayhems of matrimony in the upstairs balcony theatre while Actors' Playhouse received a special gift from long-time sponsor American Express, a $20,000 check in support of the Theatre. Director of Corporate Affairs and Communication Ann Marie Taglienti on behalf of American Express presented the check.
In the true Actors' Playhouse tradition guests were greeted by Chairman of the Board Dr. Lawrence E. Stein, Executive Producing Director Barbara S. Stein and Artistic Director David Arisco as the crowd enjoyed a pre-show reception by Catering By Lovables, Bacardi, U.S.A. and Premiere Beverage Co. with music by Bravo Musicians and art on display by Fernando Sucre.
On behalf of Actors' Playhouse, Barbara Stein thanked honored guests and loyal patrons as well as the show's sponsors including Greg Levine of Quality Inn South, Commissioners Sally Heyman and Katie Sorensen of Miami-Dade County, Steven Schemer of A. Married ALIVE! called "a burst of summer fun" by Christine Dolen of the Miami Herald, will BE PRESENTED Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. through July 27th, and Thursdays - Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. from July 30th- August 16th. Additional matinees will be held Wednesday July 15th and July 22nd at 2 p.m.
Tickets for weeknights and matinees are $40, and on Friday and Saturday evenings $48. The theatre offers a 10 percent senior discount rate the day of performance and $15 student rush tickets 15 minutes prior to curtain with identification. Discounts are based on availability and exclude Saturday and Sunday. Married ALIVE! contains adult situations and adult subject matter.
