Lynn University Announces Schedule 2016-17 Live at Lynn Theatre Series

BOCA RATON, Florida, July 13, 2016 - Lynn University and Producer Jan McArt, director of theatre arts program development, today announced that both season subscriptions and individual show tickets are available for the popular Libby Dodson's Live at Lynn Theatre Series.

"The Libby Dodson's Live at Lynn Theatre Series will feature seven amazing shows this year that will delight entertainment fans of all ages," says McArt. "Anyone who loves beautiful music and dance from around the world, all brilliantly performed by top-tier talents should plan to attend these knock-out productions."

She adds, "For more than three decades, I have strived to present the Boca Raton community and all of South Florida with first class entertainment, and I believe this may be the most exciting season yet. We hope to meet new subscribers and make new friends here in the Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center at Lynn University."

Season subscriptions are now available at a 25 percent discount - only $288 for orchestra seats (regularly $385) and $262 for mezzanine seating (usually $350). Individual show tickets for the Live at Lynn Theatre Series are $70 for box, $55 for orchestra and $50 for mezzanine.

Capitol Steps

Another election, another song. Capitol Steps was born when some Senate staffers were planning a Christmas party. They wanted to stage a nativity play, but in the whole Congress they couldn't find three wise men or a virgin. So, they dug into the headlines to create their special brand of parody, satire and song. This election year, imagine the fun they'll have!

Piaf! The Show

Journey with Edith Piaf, everyone's favorite chanteuse, Piaf to the parks of Pigalle, to Montmartre in the era of "La Vie en Rose," with Anne Carrere, a young singer from the village of Puget, who captures the soul of France's national chanteuse, with songs that define the courage, sorrow and romance of the City of Lights.

Passionate, rhythmic, heartfelt - Lucille Ball's daughter, Lucie Arnaz, pays tribute to her father Desi Arnaz in this fiery "tip of her hat" to her Latin roots. Featuring a mix of songs in English and Spanish, Arnaz salutes Irving Berlin and the Gershwins alongside tunes by Agustín Lara, Rafael Hernández and Margarita Lecuona. This show is beautifully staged by Tommy Tune.

With songs from Venice to Vegas, and combining rich vocal harmonies with gentle orchestrations, the U.K.'s original classical crossover man-band known as "the Rat Pack of Opera" makes its way to the U.S. The Tenors present a selection of hits from opera, musicals and pop.
