An inspiring play of overwhelming power.
The life of Golda Meir--from impoverished Russian schoolgirl to Prime Minister of Israel--is one of the most amazing stories of the 20th Century.
Embroiled in the Yom Kippur war of 1973-- involved in crises large and small—she is contemplating the most difficult decision of her career.
The world premiere of Golda's Balcony was produced at Shakespeare & Company, Lenox, MA, in May 2002. The New York premiere was produced off-Broadway at Manhattan Ensemble Theater, New York, NY, in March 2003 andmoved to Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theatre in October 2003. Golda's Balcony was nominated for the 2003 Drama League Award for "Best Play." It holds the record as the longest running one-woman play in Broadway history.
