The Costume Museum at The Wick in Boca Raton will showcase a sparkling tribute to the ultimate in glamour for their fifth season exhibit.

BLING: The Brilliant History of Glitz will dazzle guests with an array of costumes from classic Broadway shows, famous films and world-class cruise productions. This exhibit will also feature an extraordinary collection of Liberace's finest presentational costumes, including the "King Neptune," "Faberge Egg," and "Red, White and Blue Hot Pants" ensembles. The Wick's collaboration with the Liberace Foundation for the Creative and Performing Arts inspired this rare exhibition outside Las Vegas.

"The wardrobes we present in our fifth museum installation have graced the stages of the most prestigious theatre and opera houses, adorned stars in memorable films and were showstoppers in Liberace's Las Vegas productions," said Kimberly Wick, Curator. "The one thing they all have in common is embellishments and, as this exhibit proves, a little bling makes a big difference. This exhibit challenges you to look past the superficial into the genius of the artisan; to lean in and pay special attention to the exquisite handiwork and marvel at the time and talent that went in to creating such a work of art."

This exhibit will reach into the Wick's massive archive of over 55 Broadway collections and will feature costumes from La Cage aux Folles, The Producers, 42nd Street, Evita and more. In addition, film accessories will also be on display, along with a new collection of cruise show costumes The Wick recently acquired from the Jean Ann Ryan collection for Norwegian Cruise Lines.

A special event celebrating the opening of Bling will take place on Saturday, October 7th. Chaired by Marilyn Swillinger, this glittering affair will feature a sumptuous luncheon and a performance by famed Liberace tribute artist, Martin Preston, Following the performance, guests will be led on an hour-long docent led tour of the museum.

Docent-led tour of the Costume Museum at The Wick begins at 11:00 a.m. and last approximately one hour. The tour is followed by a three-course, gourmet luncheon served beneath the crystal chandelier that once welcomed guests at the famed Tavern-on-the Green and is presented on the same opulent china, silver, and crystal that graced the tables of this historic restaurant.

Martin Preston is an actor and musician who has devoted the past 26 years to re-creating the music and glamour of the late, great Liberace. He made his debut as Liberace at Jan McArt's Royal Palm Theatre in Boca Raton, Florida in 1990, running for a record-breaking 32 weeks. Since then, Martin has appeared as Liberace in Las Vegas and Atlantic city, in many of the North America's finest theatres and showrooms, and throughout the world on the Cunard, Holland America, and Princess Cruise Lines. In addition to performing at several gala celebrations at the famed Liberace Museum in Las Vegas, Preston is an honored recipient of the Grand Prize in the Liberace Piano Competition.
