For five performances only, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's ‘Sunday in the Park With George' will come alive at the hands of the Caldwell Theatre Company in Boca Raton, Florida.
The Pulitzer Prize winning musical is the fictional account of the impressionist painter George Seurat and his journey to create the masterpiece painting, "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" (Act I), and his distant relative, a modern day writer suffering from artistic paralysis (Act II)
Wayne LeGette plays the artist in both acts; Melissa Minyard plays Dot and Marie.
The cast includes Jim Ballard (A Soldier/Alex), Kim Cozort (Nurse/Harriet Pawling/Mrs.), Elizabeth Dimon (Old Lady/Blair Daniels), Chelsa Leigh Green (Celeste 1/A Waitress), Liana Hoffman (Louise), John Lariviere (Louis/Billy Webster), Bruce Linser (Franz/Dennis), Brian Minyard (Jules/Bob Greenberg/Mr., Nicole Niefeld (Celeste 2/Elaine), Shane R. Tanner (A Boatman/Charles Redmond), Laura Turnbull (Yvonne/Naomi Eisen) and Laura Wayth (Frieda/Betty).
Clive Cholteron directs and Jon Rose is musical director.
The show runs from October 8-11. Thursday through Saturday at 8PM. Saturday and Sunday at 2PM. Ticket prices are $35 and $25 depending upon seating. Students $10.00.
