Lake Worth Playhouse
Announces its 56th Season
The Lake Worth Playhouse has revealed its line-up for the 2008 – 2009 season.
The announcement was made by Playhouse Artistic Director Jodie Dixon-Mears.
Playhouse patrons will be treated to an interesting and varied menu of musical, comedic and dramatic theatre over the next year. The 2008-2009 season will literally 'kick off' with the foot-stomping, musical Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Leading Ladies by Ken Ludwig will be next - a fast paced farce about two men trying to claim an inheritance only to find out they must dress as women. The third production and second musical of the season will be Nunsense - who can resist singing and dancing nuns? Playhouse volunteers have asked for a 'large costume drama' and Arthur Miller's The Crucible has been chosen to fulfill that request. The season will close with Always…Patsy Cline, a fact based musical filled with 27 Cline songs such as Walkin' After Midnight, and Crazy.
The Playhouse will also produce two additional shows. South Florida's July audiences will be treated to Hair the classic "American Tribal Love-Rock Musical," to be directed and choreographed by Carbonell Award nominated Robert Dawson. Also, The Woman in Black, a classic ghost story adapted from Susan Hill's best selling novel, will be staged, very appropriately, on October 30th, 31st and November 1st.
Subscription prices and ticket prices will remain the same for the 2008/2009 Season. Complimentary valet parking will be available to subscribers only.
Subscription packages for the 2008/2009 season are available through the Lake Worth Playhouse Box Office at 561-586-6410. You may also visit www.lakeworthplayhouse.org .
