'Kool & The Gang'

Kool & The Gang, the popular R&B, soul, funk, disco and jazz band will perform at the Miramar Cultural Center for one night only-Friday, May 8, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.  Tickets go on sale Friday, April 17th and range from $57 to $125. Clear Channel Radio Personality Cubby will be MC for the evening.   

The $125 ticket includes a Pre-Concert V.I.P. Reception, with drinks and hors d'oeuvres.  Post-Concert, there will be an after-party in the Banquet Hall and Botanical Garden of the Cultural Center with a DJ, dancing, drinks, and hors d'oeuvres.   

Kool & the Gang has sold over 70 million albums worldwide and influenced the music of three generations. Thanks to songs like Celebration, Cherish, Jungle Boogie, Summer Madness and Open Sesame, they've earned two Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, 25 Top Ten R&B hits, nine Top Ten Pop hits, and 31 Gold and Platinum albums.  The band has performed continuously for the past 35 years, longer than any R&B group in history. Their bulletproof funk and tough, jazzy arrangements have also made them the most sampled band of all time.
