Steven Janicki, Executive Director of the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts, is pleased to announce the 2010-2011 Performing Arts Season with 25 sensational shows.

"These are challenging times for our community and we can certainly appreciate that people are careful with how they spend their money. This year we are fortunate to be able to present an exciting season of diverse and entertaining performing arts at affordable prices. We have scaled back on the number of our Broadway shows, but not on the quality. Our two productions of Fiddler on the Roof and Mamma Mia are professional equity productions which our community has come to expect at the King Center. In addition to bringing back some favorite timeless classics, we have many artists who will grace the stage for the first time this season, including the celebrated comedienne/actress Carol Burnett, the icon singer/songwriter, Amy Grant (joining her husband, county music legend, Vince Gill) and the internationally acclaimed Irish ensemble, Celtic Thunder. With such an extraordinary season ahead, we invite Brevard County to enjoy the best of the performing arts...close to home."

When Charles Dickens wrote his "ghostly little tale" in 1843, he couldn't know that A Christmas Carol was destined to become one of the most beloved holiday traditions of all time. By telling this fable illustrating the unfairness of the Industrial Revolution and the necessity for brotherhood and unselfishness, Dickens gave the world one of its most enduring Christmas stories. The Nebraska Theatre Caravan has been touring Charles Jones' delightful adaptation of A Christmas Carol since 1979. The Caravan's Carol, which weaves traditional Christmas carols throughout the narrative, is probably the most widely produced production of Dickens' in the nation, annually performing for more than 100,000 people in more than 60 cities across the country. www.nebraskatheatrecaravan.com
