AWARD WINNING COMEDY "KILLING Kevin Spacey"
MAKES ITS U.S. PREMIERE AT
THE BROWARD CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

At some time or another, everyone has daydreamed of being a movie star, but what happens when you discover that you are playing a supporting role in real life and decide it's time to add a little star power?

That's the comic premise that drives 'Killing Kevin Spacey,' which won the "Best of Fringe" Awards in Edmonton, Toronto and Winnipeg. The Broward Center for the Performing Arts and DeNiro & Wolf Productions present the production in its U.S. premiere as part of the Arts Access Program on Friday, October 29 and Saturday, October 30 at 8 p.m. in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center.

Called brilliant, creative and a hilarious romp by critics, 'Killing Kevin Spacey' revolves around a movie fanatic who is living a dull life that mirrors what he thinks of as the "weak characters" played by Spacey on screen. When the man decides to change his lifestyle to reflect the hotshot roles of Al Pacino, he runs into funny and devastating consequences.

While it was a breakout hit in Canada, the creators and Broward Center cast of 'Killing Kevin Spacey' all have South Florida ties. Producer and director Elan Wolf Farbiarz co-wrote the comedy with Cory Terry, and both men were raised in the area. The cast comprised of Scott Douglas Wilson, Monica Mercedes Garcia and Arick Fudali are all currently living and performing here.

The performances are part of the Broward Center's Arts Access Program, which assists community-based organizations aspiring to present professional level arts and cultural performances at the Broward Center. The program provides technical assistance and marketing support to local community groups enabling them to develop and build their audiences. Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Arts Access program has collaborated with nearly 50 performing arts companies, nonprofit organizations and cultural and community groups to present all genres of the performing arts including music, dance, theater, poetry and comedy.

Tickets are $35 and are available through the Broward Center's box office at 954/462-0222 or www.BrowardCenter.org. The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is located in the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District at 201 SW Fifth Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.

Mangos Restaurant & Lounge, Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, Mercedes-Benz, TAM Airlines, Sun-Sentinel and Comcast are proud sponsors of the Broward Center. All dates, programs and artists are subject to change.
