The Jupiter Academy of Music and the Florida Classical Ballet Theatre is proud to present "Shine the Light," a celebration of music and dance in memory of Makayla Joy Sittion. Please join us as we celebrate Makayla's life and legacy with an afternoon of joyful entertainment.

"Shine the Light," to be held April 25 at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, will take you on a journey of classics, hymns and inspirational tunes, along with breath-taking ballet. Six-year-old Makayla was a faith-filled little girl who inspired thousands with her passion for life. Her own life was cut short in November 2009, but through this concert, her legacy will live-on, providing scholarships for children who find joy in music and dance. Presented by the Jupiter Academy of Music, with participation by the Florida Classical Ballet Theatre and Young Singers of the Palm Beaches.

"Shine the Light" will be emceed by WPTV-Channel 5 anchor Kelley Dunn.

"In the midst of our deep grief and sadness over losing our precious daughter, we find comfort knowing that Makayla's light shines on through her faith and her love for beautiful things like music and dance," said Jim and Muriel Sitton. "We're thankful that this performance will help make it possible for other children to share in the joy of the arts the way Makayla did."

"Shine the Light" is a concert conceived to celebrate the spirit and life of Makayla Joy Sitton," said Sandra Baran, owner of Jupiter Music Academy. "I was privileged to be her piano teacher, and I was profoundly affected by the joy and delight she brought to each lesson, and to all that she did. I hope this concert will inspire all those who see it."

Join us for after the show, for more piano playing sponsored by Kretzer Pianos, and view the art displayed by Lighthouse Center for the Arts.
