Jerry Herman RING THEATRE
2006-07 SEASON

The World Goes 'Round
The Songs of Kander and Ebb
October 4 - 14, 2006
Conceived by Scott Ellis, Jacques Deval and Susan Stroman. Lyrics by Fred Ebb. Music by John Kander.

Life - with its glories, indignities, hopes and quiet dreams - is the subject of this dazzling outpouring of song and dance. The World Goes 'Round features songs like "All That Jazz," "Ring Them Bells," "Maybe This Time," "Cabaret," and "New York, New York." The World Goes 'Round won the 1991 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical Revue.

A Midsummer Night's Dream
November 8 – 12, 2006
By William Shakespeare

There is much mischief to be had in Shakespeare's most popular comedy when lovers defy authority and flee the court, only to find themselves caught in a zany web of illusion, romance, and magic in the Athenian woods. Featuring fairies, love potions, mixed-up lovers, magic spells, and a pompous rustic sporting a donkey's head, A Midsummer Night's Dream promises to bring laughter and a healthy dose of enchantment to South Florida this autumn.

A New Brain
November 29 – December 3, 2006
Music and lyrics by William Finn. Book by William Finn and James Lapine.
It was only three days after winning the Tony Award for his Broadway musical Falsettos that composer William Finn was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Faced with this terminal diagnosis, Finned teamed up with playwright James Lapine to create this autobiographical musical about a composer who worries that he'll die without leaving anything of value behind. The result is a lovely comedy that manages to be one of the most life-affirming, most heartfelt musicals written in the last decade, perhaps a show only someone who has actually faced death could have written." (For mature audiences)

Brighton Beach Memoirs
February 21 - March 4, 2007
By Neil Simon

Neil Simon is Broadway's "patron saint of laughter" and in Brighton Beach Memoirs he turns his comic focus on his own childhood and family in Brooklyn. One of three autobiographical plays (the other two are Biloxi Blues and Broadway Bound), Brighton Beach Memoirs features young Simon – in the guise of Eugene Morris Jerome – as a teenager living in an overcrowded house in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, in 1937.

Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound play an alternating schedule over two weeks.
Broadway Bound
February 22 - March 3, 2007
By Neil Simon

In Broadway Bound, the final installment of Simon's family trilogy, Eugene Morris Jerome has returned to his family home in Brighton Beach. Now 23, Eugene has teamed up with his brother Stanley to break into the world of professional comedy writing. Their efforts to come up with an idea for a comedy sketch sparkle with hilarity.
On the Town
April 18 -28, 2007
Music by Leonard Bernstein.
Book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green.

On the Town was an instant hit upon opening on Broadway in 1944. MGM made the movie starring Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra. On the Town is the story of three sailors on a twenty-four hour pass from the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Memorable musical numbers show off Leonard Bernstein at his best including Come Up to My Place, Lucky to Be Me, Some Other Time and New York, New York.

Season tickets for all six plays are available. Weekdays and Matinees: $80 regular admission/$70 seniors. Friday and Saturdays: $95 regular admission/$85 seniors.
To receive a free, color brochure with instructions on how to purchase season subscriptions to all six plays at considerable savings, telephone the box office Monday – Friday between 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at 305-284-3355. For more information, log on to
