A likely return to TV in a new comedy series has forced Lily Tomlin to postpone her performance at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, which was originally scheduled for April 15, 2012, and will now take place on May 6, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall. As a part in the Center's 2011-2012 Comedy Planet Series, Lily Tomlin's performances are always filled with unforgettable laughter.

Late last month, it was announced that TOMLIN will be the star in ABC's "Malibu Country" alongside Reba McEntire. Unfortunately, she had to reschedule her engagements due to the pilot's filming schedule in April.

Ticket prices begin at $30, and may be purchased through the Adrienne Arsht Center box office by calling (305) 949-6722, or online at www.arshtcenter.org. Guests who have already purchased tickets to Lily Tomlin's original performance date will be mailed a new ticket reflecting the new date. The box office is available to assist with all other ticket inquiries.

"The Arsht Center is thrilled to showcase and welcome back one of America's foremost comediennes, Lily Tomlin, in the Knight Concert Hall," said M. John Richard, president and CEO of the Adrienne Arsht Center. "Tomlin's distinctive humor and beloved repertoire of timeless characters speak to audiences of all ages, and makes the perfect addition to our 2011-2012 Comedy Planet Series."

In a one-woman-show, Lily Tomlin takes her audience on what the Washington Post describes as a "wise and howlingly funny" trip with more than a dozen of her celebrated characters, from Ernestine and Trudy to Mrs. Beasley and Edith Ann. "Using a fantastic range of voices, gestures and movements, she conjures up the cast of characters with all the apparent ease of a magician pulling a whole menagerie of animals from a single hat," raves the New York Daily News.

Lily Tomlin brings multi-media to her performance, with a variety of video clips specially compiled to satirize her celebrityhood and to showcase her classic characters in their renowned roles. Three or four of her iconic monologues will appear in this performance because of their timelessness and popularity – but her classic characters also appear in new roles – Edith Ann has moved into social media and uploads her mother's iPod and now has to endure life with her 13-year-old sister, Irene. Since the divestiture of AT&T, Ernestine has been working for an insurance conglomerate denying healthcare to everyone. These new roles are enhanced by video versions with whom TOMLIN interacts on stage. Lily Tomlin also introduces videos of other characters not seen in years as well as videos/photos of her childhood. While anyone who has seen her show in the past will remember some of the venerated monologues, Lily has now incorporated new material and new special effects in her performance.

Spanning 40 years, Lily Tomlin's body of work has won her several Tony Awards and Emmy Awards, as well as a Grammy Award. She is best known for her larger-than-life and still-believable Laugh-In TV characters – Ernestine, the snappy telephone operator, and Edith Ann, the devilish six-year-old. Additional highlights of TOMLIN's career include her long-running Broadway show and film The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, written and directed by her partner in showbiz and life, Jane Wagner. Lily Tomlin has also captured the hearts and imaginations of millions in box-office hits such as Nashville (her Oscar-nominated film debut), 9 to 5 with Dolly Parton and Jane Fonda, All of Me with Steve Martin, Big Business with Bette Midler, I Heart Huckabees with Dustin Hoffman and A Prairie Home Companion, in which she and Meryl Streep appear as a sister singing act.
